Commissioner candidate forum set for Thursday

Eight of nine candidates for two seats on the Board of Clark County Commissioners are scheduled to participate in a forum at 6 p.m. Thursday at Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.

The forum, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, will be in the Columbia Room and be aired live on CVTV.

Incumbent Tom Mielke will be joined by opponents Ron Barca, Bob Freund and Joe Tanner. Candidate Darren Wertz will not attend, according to a news release from the League of Women Voters. Incumbent Marc Boldt will be joined by opponents Roman Battan, Pat Campbell and David Madore.

The League of Women Voters has two other forums scheduled at the library ahead of the Aug. 7 primary.

At 6 p.m July 11, there will be a forum featuring candidates for Clark Public Utilities commissioner.

At 6 p.m. July 12, there will be a forum for candidates for State Rep. Position 1 in the 17th District and State Rep. Position 2 in the 18th District.
