Athletes from the Evergreen Storm Track Club and Flanagan Girls Track Club turned in top results at the USATF Pacific Northwest Association Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships over the weekend.
Evergreen Storm Club coach Scott Slamp said his team had 40 medalists with 11 champions at the meet in Seattle.
Flanagan Clan of Woodland had four champions in five events in addition to several athletes moving on to the regional Junior Olympics, July 7-8 in Bend, Ore.
The top eight in each event advance to regionals.
Champions from Evergreen Storm included:
Cassie McKinney (girls 15-16 age group) in the 1,500-meter run, 2,000 steeplechase and 3,000.
Ethan Tonder (boys 13-14) in the shot put and javelin.
Bailey King (boys 13-14) in the discus.
Kyle Gonzales (boys 13-14) in the long jump.
Miguel De La Melena (boys 13-14) in the 3,000.
Ryan Gunther (boys 15-16) 400 hurdles and high jump.
Keaton Spiller (boys 15-16) in the 2,000 steeplechase.
Jacqueline Purwins (girls 11-12) in the high jump.
Champions from the Flanagan Clan included:
Amelia Renner (9-10) in the mini-javelin.
McKenna Flanagan (11-12) in the mini-javelin.
Shelby Vermeulen (13-14) in the shot put and discus.
Gabby Bender (15-16) in the 400 hurdles.
