Independence Day will be celebrated at a variety of locations in the Camas, Washougal, Vancouver and Stevenson areas.

Fireworks and dance music will take place at the Port marina

Organizers of the July Fourth celebration at the Port of Camas-Washougal promise the event will be bigger and better than before.

Food vendors, including the Camas Lions, will be open for business beginning at 4 p.m., at Marina Park, 24 S. “A” St.

The music will start at 6 p.m., with folk-rock singer and songwriter Justin Klump, of Portland, entertaining the crowd for 90 minutes. The 12-piece dance band “Big Night Out” will perform rock, pop and funk, starting at 8:30 p.m.

Immediately following the concert, the City of Washougal will provide a fireworks display over the Columbia River, adjacent to the music venue, at 10 p.m.

Event parking will be available adjacent to the Westlie-Ford dealership and on vacant property of the former Hambleton Lumber company. Parking assistance will be provided by Boy Scout Troop 324, and parking shuttles will be available.

For individuals who plan to moor their boats on the breakwater dock to watch fireworks, the event docking fee will be $15. Wristbands will be issued to show proof of payment.
