A standoff between police and a man barricaded inside a Lincoln neighborhood home ended at 10:55 p.m. after the man was shocked with a Taser weapon.

Arvell K. Kindell, 47, was taken into custody after being hit with a Taser shot, ending a six-hour standoff. He was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of first-degree burglary, violating a no-contact order and on a warrant, according to a Vancouver police news release.

The incident began at about 4:40 p.m. when police were called to a reported disturbance between a man and a woman in a house in the 3200 block of Harney Street. Police arrived to find the woman had already fled. The man, meanwhile, took off on foot and a few minutes later knocked on the door of a home at the corner of 36th Street and Kauffman Avenue. When the occupants of the home came to the door, the man forced himself inside the home, according to police. The residents fled, and the standoff ensued.

The Southwest Washington Regional SWAT team responded to the call.
