Placement of bridge girders will cause the nighttime closure of Union Street in Camas this week.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, full nighttime closures of Union Street at state Route 14 will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Second and Sixth streets will remain open.
The girders will provide the base for a new bridge that will carry state Route 14 over Union Street. It is one of two bridges that will form a new split diamond interchange in Camas and Washougal.
In July, crews will set girders for the second bridge, which will take SR-14 over Second Street in Washougal, and later this summer crews will complete the bridge decks and build on-and off-ramps.
