A bike-focused workshop in Vancouver will explore Clark County’s cycling opportunities and ongoing efforts to improve conditions for local riders.

The Hub and Spoke workshop on June 21 will be hosted by two advocacy organizations — the Bicycle Alliance of Washington and Bike Clark County.

The half-day event includes presentations covering both a local and national perspective.

Among the scheduled speakers is Bike Clark County President Eric Giacchino, who will talk about the organization’s work promoting safety and increased ridership in the county. Other conversations will cover the issues and policies affecting bicycling in Washington and nationally, plus ways to advocate for projects and programs.

The event includes a brief tour — by bicycle, of course — highlighting problems and opportunities in Vancouver.

The workshop begins at noon Thursday, June 21, in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. in Vancouver. It’s scheduled to wrap up by 4:45 p.m. The event is free, but participants are asked to register in advance through Bicycle Alliance of Washington.
