The suspected driver in a deadly hit-and-run accident in Portland was in Clark County overnight before being extradited to Oregon.
Ashley Chavez on Monday was booked into the Clark County Jail. Fox 12 Oregon reports she was transferred to the Multnomah County Jail on Tuesday morning.
U.S. Marshals took Chavez, 23, into custody as she was leaving a Bellingham restaurant on June 1. Portland police say she will face manslaughter and other charges.
Investigators believe she was behind the wheel when a car struck-and-killed 63-year-old Nancy Schoeffler, whose body found lying on West Burnside Street after 11 p.m. on March 31.
