FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 1220 N.E. 68th St., is posting signs to show their support of marriage equality. The church purchased 50 yard signs for members to put in front of their homes that state, “My church supports marriage equality.” As part of their support for marriage equality, the church will have a free public screening of the documentary “For the Bible Tells Me So” at 7 p.m. June 16. JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES invite all Spanish speaking residents to attend a free district convention at 9:20 a.m. June 22 or 29 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland. The theme of the convention is “Safeguard your Heart,” and the focus is on strengthening one’s spirituality. The daily themes and programs are based on passages of Scripture and will be presented in Spanish.
