A strong shot of June rain in Vancouver on Monday set a new record for that date, according to the National Weather Service.
The city recorded 0.61 inches of rain, easily beating the old record of 0.43 inches set June 4, 1964. Monday’s rain pushed this month’s total so far to 0.71 inches, according to the weather service.
Forecasters see more moisture on the horizon for Southwest Washington. The weather service predicts at least a chance of rain for the next several days, though a break in the pattern could allow for a mostly dry Wednesday. High temperatures are expected to land mostly in the 60s, well below average for this time of year.
