Fire displaces 23 at Tualatin assisted living center

Blaze damages laundry room

A fire in a laundry room displaced 23 residents of a memory care unit in Tualatin, Ore. early today.

The fire was reported at 1:33 a.m. at the Farmington Square Senior Care Community, an assisted living center at at 17950 SW 115th Ave.

No one was injured, but residents had to be relocated, according to a news release from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

The fire was isolated to a clothes dryer, but the facility suffered smoke damage.

According to firefighters, the facility is large enough so that residents could be relocated onsite until the damaged units are cleaned.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
