Applications are being accepted for 2013 grants for Clark County historical preservation efforts and programs.

The deadline to submit a grant application is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.

Typical grants range from $3,000 to $15,000, although applicants may request more.

An advisory committee will review applications and submit recommendations to the Board of Clark County Commissioners in November.

Grants will be awarded in December and money will become available in January 2013.

The program is paid for by a state surcharge of $1 per document recorded with the county.

Applications are available online at http://www.clark.wa.gov/bocc/current_issues/issues.html.

For more information, contact Senior Policy Advisor Axel Swanson at 360-397-2232 or axel.swanson@clark.wa.gov.

Completed applications must include an original signature, so electronic copies cannot be accepted. Applications may be delivered to the commissioners’ office on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. or mailed to: Axel Swanson, Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000.
