The Clark County Youth Commission needs eight representatives to fill out its 30-member roster.

One volunteer is needed from each area: Washougal, Ridgefield, and Woodland or Green Mountain. Woodland residents must live in Clark County.

There are also three at-large positions open for which any youth from any school district in Clark County may apply. There are also two positions open for youth who have no previous leadership experience.

The youth commission gives input to county departments, community organizations and the Clark County Board of Commissioners. Members range in age from 11 to 19 and serve one-year terms. Members must commit to two monthly meetings plus additional subcommittee work, amounting to approximately eight hours of work or more per month.

Youth from all cultures, ethnicities and abilities are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must complete an application and an interview. Contact Elizabeth Hill, youth commission program coordinator, 360-397-2130, ext. 5133, or elizabeth.hill@clark.wa.gov.

The deadline for submission of applications is June 14.
