All lanes of Fourth Plain Boulevard west of the Interstate 5 onramp were closed Tuesday night after a head-on accident.
At 9:40 p.m., all lanes were closed and Vancouver police officers were redirecting traffic.
Details were sketchy, but officials said the westbound and eastbound drivers of a Buick Regal and a Saturn Ion collided.
Two fire engines and one ladder truck with 10 Vancouver firefighters were dispatched around 8 p.m.
American Medical Response also arrived on scene.
One driver had to be extricated from a vehicle. Both drivers were injured, though the injuries were not life-threatening, and both were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, officials said. There were no passengers.
At The Columbian’s press time, it was uncertain when Fourth Plain would be cleared for traffic.
