Bartek, Tibbits win Portland golf tourney

Two Vancouver golfers became champions of Portland on Tuesday.

Chloe Bartek won the girls division and Spencer Tibbits won the intermediate boys division of the Portland City/Bob Allard Memorial junior amateur at Rose City Golf Course.

The Oregon Golf Association event was played over two days. Bartek, 17, had six birdies each day and won the girls division by seven strokes. Playing against girls ages 15-17, she posted a 36-hole score of 141 that was five strokes under par.

Tibbits, 13, shot 2-under par 70 on Tuesday and won the division for ages 12-13 by nine strokes. He was 2-under for the tournament.
