Peter Frenzen will offer an update on Mount St. Helens during Thursday’s presentation at the Clark County Historical Museum.
Frenzen, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument scientist, will speak at 7 p.m. at the museum, 1511 Main St. He will discuss new public programs, including a new focus for Coldwater Ridge, which has now been renamed and reopened as the Mount St. Helens Science and Learning Center at Coldwater.
During his 24 years at the monument, Frenzen has instituted interpretive and educational projects of local, regional and national significance. He was instrumental in the development of the monument’s three original visitor centers and interpretive sites. Frenzen also has helped train seasonal interpreters and has been key in the development of educational materials, symposia and programs.
Frenzen’s appearance will be part of the monthly “After Hours” event, when the museum is open from 5 to 9 p.m.
Admission fees: $4 adults, $3 seniors/students, $2 children, $10 families. Clark County Historical Society members and active-duty military personnel and their families are free.
