About 12:58 a.m. today Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of two armed robberies at Northeast 26th Avenue and Alberta Street.
Officers arrived in the area and contacted both victims. The first victim told police that he was walking on Alberta when he was approached by three suspects who demanded his backpack, shoes and wallet. One of the suspects was armed with a knife.
The victim dropped his property and ran away to call 911.
Within a minute, the suspects approached a second victim, who was riding his bicycle on Alberta, and demanded his cell phone and bike. The suspect with the knife stabbed the victim, and the suspects left the area with the victim’s bicycle.
The second victim was transported to a Portland hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound.
The first victim’s backpack and shoes were found nearby by officers searching the neighborhood for the suspects. The missing bicycle is described as a tan bike with a green seat.
