Salmon Creek — Siblings Lauren and Michael Siess, both accomplished musicians, are studying at the Itzhak Perlman Music Program this summer in Shelter Island, N.Y. They are the only West Coast attendees and passed rigorous tests before being accepted into the international camp. On July 7 they performed the second movement of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante at a camp concert. Lauren, a student at Vancouver School for Arts and Academics, plays viola in the Portland Youth Philharmonic. Michael, who attends Skyview High School, is violinist and concertmaster with the PYP. Their parents are Tim Siess and Stacy Edgar.
