Saturday

Northwest Neighborhood Picnic, noon to 3 p.m., Franklin Park, Northwest 58th and Cherry streets. Bring something to cook on the grill. The neighborhood association will provide soft drinks, chips and condiments for hamburgers and hot dogs. Each family should bring either a salad or dessert to share. Landover-Sharmel Neighborhood Picnic, 3 to 7 p.m., Landover Green Park, 20th Street and 131st Avenue. Tables and grill provided. Bring meats to grill and a potluck dish to share. No alcohol permitted. Bring the kids for balloon twisting and face painting from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Monday

Cascade Highlands Neighborhood Association, 7 p.m., south end of Homestead Park, Southeast 160th Avenue and 18th Street: Summer dessert meeting. Chat with neighbors. Bring a dessert or nibble to share. Friendly pets welcome.
