There still are open slots for the summer camp at Captain Strong Primary School in Battle Ground.

The next camp session for children who are in grades K-5 starts July 30. Students can enroll for one to three weeks.

The camp includes mental and physical activities geared to teach kids respect and responsibility, all while having fun, district officials said.

Lunch is included and transportation is available between Captain Strong and Yacolt, Glenwood Heights and Maple Grove primary schools. The camp is led by Battle Ground Community Education and the school district’s Learning Support Programs office, with instructors from Vancouver’s oneteamkids.com.

The camp runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. It costs $85 per week, but scholarships are available. Parents can drop off children as early as 7 a.m. and pick them up as late as 6 p.m. for an additional fee.

For more information and to register, call 360-885-6584 or go to battlegroundps.org, click on “BG Community Ed” at right and scroll down to the summer camp icon.
