State Little League tournament action continues

Evergreen Little League all-star softball teams are thriving at state tournaments in Clark County.

The junior softball all-stars are 2-0 in games being played a La Center Community Park, and the 9-10 all-stars won their opening game at state on Sunday at David Douglas Park.

Here are results reported to The Columbian on Sunday:

Little League

Junior softball — Evergreen is 2-0 and has advanced to the state semifinal where it will face District 2 at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at La Center Community Park.

Evergreen defeated Auburn/Kent 7-4 on Sunday. Evergreen opened with a 19-5 win on Saturday over District 7.

Battle Ground was eliminated with a 19-9 loss to District 7 on Sunday.

9-10 softball — Evergreen won its opening game of the state tournament at David Douglas Park, 5-2 over Federal Way and will next face Gig Harbor at 5:30 p.m. today.

Brianna Fehrer was the winning pitcher for Evergreen with 15 strikeouts.

In other games, South Snohomish sent District 6 representative Lewis River into the losers bracket with a 17-0 win. North Lake eliminated West Plains 15-0.

Minor baseball — Cascade won its opening state game Sunday, defeating South Highline 4-3 at Mill Creek. Next is a 1 p.m. game today against District 1.

Ridgefield lost its opener to Sammamish 2-0 and will face South Highline at 6 p.m. today in a losers-out game.

9-10 baseball — Salmon Creek has won twice at the state tournament in Auburn to reach the quarterfinals.

Next up is Federal Way at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Lacamas faces a loser-out game at 6 p.m. today against Walla Walla.
