The Vancouver Jayhawks and Camas-Washougal Granite had a rough start at the Northwest Senior Babe Ruth baseball regional in Kent.
The Jayhawks dropped their first game of pool play 15-5 to Wilder Baseball of Port Angeles on Thursday night. Friday night, the Jayhawks lost 5-1 to the Columbia Basin Riverdogs of Moses Lake.
Justin Rinta was 2 for 3 with a triple for the Jayhawks in Friday’s game.
Friday morning, Camas-Washougal dropped its opener against Montana, 9-1.
Each of the 12 teams play four games with the top two in each pool meeting in semifinals on Monday. The championship also is Monday, with the winner advancing to the World Series in Texas.
