Regional SWAT was called to an early Wednesday morning standoff with a 22-year-old Vancouver man in the Rose Village neighborhood.

After two hours, Kurtis D. Rosenstiel was taken into custody. He was arrested for suspicion of second-degree assault/domestic violence.

Vancouver police said they were called to a disturbance with a weapon at 3606 M. St. at 4:33 a.m.

Witnesses said two women and two men were inside when a fight broke out between the two men and one pulled out a gun. One man and the two women then left.

The other man stayed inside and refused contact with police officers who asked him to leave the house. The Southwest Washington Regional SWAT team was called and officers were able to make contact with the man.

At approximately 6:40 a.m., Rosenstiel was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Clark County Jail. Bail was not allowed.
