Celine is 2 1/2 year old female American Staffordshire terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray. She’s a little shy at first but would really love to lean up against you and cuddle. A home with a 6-foot wood fence would be best to help keep her safe. Celine should meet any children or male dogs she might be living with to make sure they get along.

Troy is 1-year-old brown tabby. He’s been patiently waiting for more than 100 days to find a home. Since his coat is long, he will need to be an indoor cat to keep his coat free of mats. Troy would be happiest in a home with children older than 6 as he doesn’t like to be carried around.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
