The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) was awarded a letter and certificate from the International Association of Chiefs of Police for the 2012 Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement Volunteer Programs.

Neighbors On Watch (Now) volunteers assist the VPD in reducing crime through observation, crime prevention education and outreach.

VPD also won an Honorable Mention certificate for the outstanding Volunteers in Policing Program category. The review process is highly competitive for these awards, according to a bulletin from VPD, and the department is proud to earn this award from their volunteer efforts.

Anyone interested in volunteering with the Vancouver Police Department can contact Volunteer Coordinator Kelly Cheney at (360) 487-7467 or kelly.cheney@cityofvancouver.us.
