Shannon Boyle scored a season-high 17 points and converted several key baskets down the stretch as the Spudders edged the visiting Wildcats.

Boyle twice converted three-point plays inside to help Ridgefield construct an eight-point lead midway through the final quarter.

The Spudders started fast, and led 12-5 at the end of the first quarter. Emily Burton had six points in the opening period.

“Our kids did a real good job of rebounding against a bigger team,” Ridgefield coach Carl Click said.

That rebounding edge limited La Center’s fourth-quarter possessions, Click said.

Seven players scored for the Wildcats, led by 10 points from Annie Baker.
