Jake Belford had 17 points and Serg Ovchinnikov added 16 for the Tigers.
“It was just a balanced effort,” Battle Ground coach Andy Schoonover said. “A few guys with four assists, a few guys with five rebounds. It was a good team effort.”
Evergreen was led by Tre Clark with 16 points. The Plainsmen were without Caleb Dressler, last year’s league player of the year, who was sitting out with an ankle injury.
Battle Ground led 15-8 after the first quarter and held the lead throughout. The Tigers finally pulled away with a 17-8 advantage in the fourth quarter.
