State picks Medicaid plan providers

The Washington state Health Care Authority has chosen five health plans to provide managed care for more than 700,000 Medicaid clients and Basic Health subscribers.

Columbia United Providers, a subsidiary of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center that serves Medicaid patients, and Premera both submitted bids on the 2012-2013 contracts but were not selected.

The successful bidders were: Amerigroup, Community Health Plan of Washington, Coordinated Care Corporation, Molina Healthcare of Washington and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan.
