Yacolt — Ilene Black, administrative board member and chairwoman of the North Country Emergency Medical Service, retired at the end of 2011 after 26 years of service. “Ilene will be missed, and has been a valued member of the administrative board. We hope we can find someone as dedicated to the North Country EMS mission as Mrs. Black has been,” said Chief Ben Peeler. “Ilene has truly made a difference in her community over the last 26 years and I know she feels very proud of her accomplishments at North Country EMS.” Commenting on her retirement, Black said, “I do so respect both the medical and administrative members of North Country EMS for the quality of professionalism and service that they all provide for the district. The 26 years I have served on the board has been an honor and a pleasure.” Jerry Olson, owner of Olson Engineering Inc. and a current board member, has been elected to be the chairman for 2012.
