Smith, who finished with 26 points, made two free throws and a field goal as the Chieftains regained the advantage, and River added some free throws down the stretch.

James Phillips, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Prairie.

The game was tied 25-25 at halftime before Columbia River built a lead in the third period.

“We had trouble scoring in that quarter,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said. “They did a good job of putting pressure on us.”
