Isaiah Smith led the Chieftains on a 10-2 run over the final three minutes for the win.
Columbia River led 43-35 entering the final quarter, but Prairie closed the gap and took a 46-45 lead as Preston Brooks made back-to-back 3-pointers. Smith, who finished with 26 points, made two free throws and a field goal as the Chieftains regained the advantage, and River added some free throws down the stretch.
James Phillips, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Prairie.
The game was tied 25-25 at halftime before Columbia River built a lead in the third period.
“We had trouble scoring in that quarter,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said. “They did a good job of putting pressure on us.”
