Two hot Heritage hands weren’t enough to shoot down balanced Battle Ground.
Ezekial Wells scored 31 points and Timmy Hergert added 29 for the visiting Timberwolves, accounting for all but six of their team’s points.
By contrast, five Tigers scored in double figures. Jamie Ford had 15 points, Serg Ovchinnikov and Kaleb McGary scored 14 apiece, Tim Sckarovskiy scored 13 and Damien Ford 10. McGary led the Tigers in rebounds with eight.
“It was a nice team win. We had a lot of guys involved,” Battle Ground coach Andy Schoonover said.
Battle Ground outscored Heritage 36-20 over the middle two quarters to builld its lead.
As for the big games for Wells and Hergert, Schoonover said his team actually played good defense most of the game.
