Consecutive put-back baskets by Kaben Humphrey-Butler helped the Titans stymie a strong rally from the Timberwolves.
Union led 68-54 entering the fourth quarter, but Heritage closed to within 75-73 with 3:30 to play. Humphrey-Butler’s baskets triggered a game-closing 16-2 run by the Titans.
Heritage’s comeback effort was sparked by Timmy Hergert, who finished with 35 points and made three 3-point shots in the fourth period. Ezekial Wells added 23 points for the Timberwolves.
Union, which made 23 of 27 free throws, was led by Tanner Nelson with 24 points and seven rebounds, while Jordan Chatman scored 22. Trent Cowan added 12 points, including a key basket during the game-ending run, and Humphrey-Butler finished with 10.
