Zach Torson scored 43 points, and a big third quarter carried the Thunder to the win in a Class 3A bi-district seeding game played at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma. Mountain View outscored Foss 33-14 in the third quarter to take control.

The win means the Thunder will play Seattle Prep at 8 p.m. on Friday at Bellevue Community College in a regional playoff game.

Torson’s 43 points were his season high, one more than the 42 he scored last week against Prairie. He made three 3-pointers.

Four players scored for Mountain View (20-7). Ryan Johnson had 14 points and Luke DuChesne and Sean McCauley each finished with 10.

Foss made eight 3-pointers in the first half and led 40-30 at halftime. But Mountain View took over by attacking the basket in the third quarter. The Thunder opened the second half with a 12-2 run to tie the game, then kept going.

Mountain View had only one 3-pointer in the 33-point third quarter, scoring 30 points from inside the key on post moves and transition opportunities.
