Officials investigate attempted arson at CHS

$10,000 reward is offered for information leading to a conviction

Law enforcement officials are currently seeking information about an attempted arson at Camas High School.

According to a press release from the Camas Police Department, on Saturday, Feb. 4, a subject attempted to set CHS, located at 26900 S.E. 15th St., on fire. The attempt was unsuccessful and only minimal damage was done to one area of a window.

A coordinated investigation is underway by the CPD, the Camas fire marshal, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people involved.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the CPD at 834-4151, the Camas fire marshal at 834-6191, or 1-800-55-ARSON.
