A desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out, denying King’s Way a huge comeback in the closing seconds.

King’s Way will play Columbia Adventist at noon Monday in a loser-out game for the district’s No. 3 berth to the 1B regionals.

The Knights led by four at halftime despite early foul trouble for Jay Becker and Carter Coval.

But hot 3-point shooting allowed Taholah to build a seven-point lead with 22 seconds to go.

King’s Way whittled the lead down to three with 2.3 seconds left and had the ball. But a shot from just inside the midcourt line hit the backboard and then the front rim before bouncing out.

No other scoring information was reported.
