Girls basketball: Battle Ground 59, Kentridge 57

Nikki Bond scored 23 points and Tessa Vanderpool 18 as the Tigers held on in the loser-out game at Puyallup to remain alive in the 4A bi-district tournament.

Battle Ground plays another loser-out game at 6 p.m. Saturday at Rogers High School against Bethel.

Kentridge battled back from a 16-point halftime deficit as the Tigers struggled from the free-throw line, making just 9 of 27.

Vanderpool also had eight steals, five rebounds and five assists.
