Zach Torson scored a game-high 24 points, including two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter that helped the Thunder pull away in a 3A bi-district elimination game at Clover Park High School.

The win advances the Thunder (17-6) into the double-elimination portion of the bracket, where they will face Wilson of Tacoma at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma.

A win Friday will assure the Thunder a spot in the 3A regionals.

After taking 28-24 lead into halftime, Mountain View manage to maintain a 3-to-6 point lead in the third quarter.

But in the fourth, the Thunder was able to make some defensive stops and convert them into transition baskets.

Torson’s 3-pointers helped Mountain View push its lead to 12 points, and the Thunder sealed the win from the free-throw line, making 12 of 14 in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Johnson and Shane McCauley each added 14 points, and Rico Bolivar had 13.
