A tough first quarter sunk the Trappers in the 3A bi-district tournament. Foss outscored Fort 22-7 in the first quarter to establish a margin the Trappers could not overcome.
Fort Vancouver finished 9-14 on the season.
“We played extremely hard,” Fort coach Scott Thompson said. “Unfortunately, the shots weren’t going in for us tonight.”
Foss forced Fort into 11 turnovers in the first quarter and hustled to a 22-7 lead.
“It would have been a really good game if we could have taken away that first quarter,” Thompson said, noting that his Trappers made only eight turnovers in the final three periods.
Fort was never closer than nine points in the second half.
Mario Eyler scored 12 points for Fort Vancouver. Deonte Hawkins had 11 points. Quinton Whitfield supplied 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Dezmyn Trent led Foss with 18 points.
