With the Columbia Valley League title on the line, the Knights made enough key plays and free throws late to secure the victory.

Jay Becker scored 22 points to lead King’s Way to its first league title in the Knights’ fifth season.

Thomas Reed led Columbia Adventist with 21 points.

The teams entered the game tied for first place in the league, and the contest was tight throughout.

Eventually, King’s Way pulled it out on the power of shooting from the foul line and from behind the 3-point line. The Knights outscored the Kodiaks 10-0 from the foul line and 18-6 on 3-pointers.

King’s Way coach Alex Kirk said guards Jay Becker, Chris Crenshaw and Christian Bukant handled the pressure from the Kodiak defense, and the Knights got a lift from the large crowd.

King’s Way will host a district playoff game at 7 p.m. on Saturday against the fourth place team from the Coastal league. Columbia Adventist will host the third-place Coastal team, but details about that game were not available.
