Girls basketball: Ilwaco 47, La Center 33

The host Fishermen were strong in the first and third quarters to sink the Wildcats in a game that determined seeding for the 1A District 4 playoffs.

La Center (11-9, 9-5) finished third in the Trico League with the loss and will host Montesano at 7 p.m. on Monday. The result means Stevenson finished alone in second place, Ilwaco finished alone in fourth place, and Ridgefield finished alone in fifth place.

Samantha Wise scored 10 points for La Center. Jasmine Coffin and Logan Manecke scored 10 apiece for Ilwaco.

The Fishermen led 17-7 after the first quarter and carried used a 12-5 third quarter to push their lead to 14 points.
