New vocational school plans grand opening

Vancouver — A new vocational school for certified nursing assistant training and other specialty courses will have its grand opening from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at 9120 N.E. Vancouver Mall Loop, Suite 120 in Vancouver.

Clark County Career Development Center LLC was founded by Vancouver gerontologist Gail Haskett and registered nurse Melinda Grooms Unruh to fill the growing demand for CNAs.

The first four-week certified nursing assistant classes begin Feb. 6. Enrollment is ongoing. Classes begin every four weeks. The school also will offer business development classes, and professional continuing education units for social workers, guardians and nursing home administrators.
