Girls basketball: Auburn 53, Washougal 51

Missed free throws were costly for the Panthers, especially after they made a huge rally to get back into the game.

Washougal trailed by 17 in the fourth quarter, came back to tie the contest, only to fall in the final minute.

The Panthers missed two free throws with 16 seconds left, finishing 20 of 39 from the stripe.

Megan Sharp led Washougal with 17 points. She also had eight rebounds and five steals.

Alyssa Blankenship had 11 points and eight steals. Megan Townsend finished with eight points, nine rebounds, and four assists.
