Boys basketball: Aloha (Ore.) 54, Evergreen 38

Robert Franks scored 12 points, Jalen Ballard and Jahmil Johnson each had nine, but the Plainsmen had no answer for Aloho in the paint.

Evergreen coach Bryan Witherspoon said his team’s interior defense struggled in the first round of the Barlow Trail Tournament in Gresham.

The Plainsmen also had trouble against the Aloha defense, scoring four points in the second quarter.

Evergreen will play in a consolation round game at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
