Boys basketball: Hockinson 56, Kelso 46

Wyatt Yearout led all scorers with 25 points as the Hawks won the non-league game on the road.

Yearout scored 10 of his team’s 16 first-quarter points and assists on two other baskets. He was 6 for 9 from 3-point range in the game and also had five rebounds.

Hockinson’s Taylor Ellensohn and Taylor Rennaker played solid defense on Kelso leading scorer Aaron Adams, holding him to 14 points and just eight through three quarters.

Jack Klodt added 14 points for Hockinson (4-6), which plays next weekend in a tournament at the Yakima SunDome.
