Girls basketball: Mark Morris 64, Evergreen 57

Karley Eaton scored 30 points and the visiting Monarchs started strong to shoot down the Plainsmen.

Mark Morris outscored Evergreen 19-9 in the opening quarter and was able to keep the lead the rest of the way. Karley Eaton scored 14 first-quarter points, making two of her five 3-pointers in the opening period.

The Monarchs (7-2) made 10 3-pointers in the game and had three players score in double figures.

Deja Nicholas scored 26 points for Evergreen (7-3), which also got 11 points apiece from Vella Jackson and Nakesha Hackett.
