Nate Adams and Mike McElroy made big plays down the stretch as the host Panthers held off the Beavers in the non-league game.
McElroy hit a tying 3-pointer with about a minute remaining. Adams then was fouled after a rebound and made two foul shots to put Washougal on top. Tenino made one free throw on its next possession, but McElroy made two free throws to extend the final margin to three points.
Adams finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers (8-3). Aaron Deister had 15 points and eight rebounds, McElroy had 10 points and Austin Tran had six assists.
Devante Harris scored 31 points to lead Tenino.
Washougal beat Tenino 77-41 early in the season on the road. Wednesday’s game was tight throughout.
