Kim Lowery scored the game’s final six points, leading Columbia River to its third win of the season.
The improving Chieftains did not win a game last year.
Columbia River jumped out to a 16-point lead in the first half, but the Panthers rallied in the second half to take a one-point lead in the closing minutes.
Lowery, though, made two free throws, got a steal and a breakaway lay-up, then scored on an inbound play with 15 seconds left for the five-point win.
Lowery, who made three 3-pointers, finished with a season-high 19 points.
Marion Lilly added 13 points for River.
Megan Bloom, who had a big bucket in the fourth quarter, led the Chieftains with 13 rebounds.
