Girls basketball: Sutherlin, Ore., 35, Evergreen 30

Playing their sixth game in eight days, the Plainsmen came up short in the championship game of the North Marion tournament in Aurora, Ore.

After scoring only 10 points in the first half, Evergreen rallied to tak e a one-point lead in the fourth quarter. But once the Bulldogs regained the lead, they were able to run down the clock.

Deja Nicholas scored 12 points for Evergreen. Nicholas and Vella Jackson were named to the all-tournament team.
