Girls basketball: Evergreen 53, North Marion 41

At Aurora, Ore, the Plainsmen built an early lead and beat the host Huskies to advance to the championship game at the North Marion Tournament.

Evergreen (7-1) will play Sutherlin, Ore., at 7 p.m. Saturday in the championship game at North Marion High School.

Deja Nicholas scored 19 points for the Plainsmen on Friday. Vella Jackson had 10 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

Evergreen led 30-16 at halftime.
