Cori Woodward made nine 3-pointers and scored 33 points and the visiting Falcons pulled away in the fourth quarter of the Class 3A Greater St. Helens League game.

The score was close late in the third quarter, but a Woodward 3-pointer sparked a run that turned a four-point game into a 10-point Prairie lead by the end of the third quarter. The momentum carried through the final quarter with the Falcons outscoring the Thunder 21-5.

Woodward scored 13 points in the second quarter to help the Falcons (7-0, 2-0) to a five-point halftime lead.

“She shot terrific. It’s not like she had a high quantity of shots,” Mountain View coach Mat Clark said.

Megan Lindsley added 12 points for Prairie.

Five players scored at least eight points for Mountain View (3-4, 1-1), led by 14 points from Carly Holboke. Clark said that Prairie used several different defenses, but that Holboke did a good job of reading the defense and involving her teammates in the Mountain View offense.
