Share’s annual holiday party will be held across the street from the nonprofit agency’s new midtown headquarters.

Living Hope Church, the former Kmart on Andresen Road, will host the free public party, which is set for 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. The address is 2711 N.E. Andresen Road.

In addition to a free meal, free gift, visit with Santa and Christmas carols, attendees will get something new this year: one bag of food and toiletry items for each family and a free haircut for anyone who wants one.

Last year, Share served 326 families through its holiday adopt-a-family program; 197 more families received gifts from general donations and giving trees. A total of 12,500 gifts were distributed during the holidays to Share’s shelter residents, outreach clients and others.

New gift items are still needed. People are asked to consider donating new clothing or shoes, any size; board games and books; gifts cards and movie passes; bus passes and gas cards. Take donations to the Share Fromhold Service Center at 2306 N.E. Andresen Road — just across the street from Living Hope Church. Visit sharevancouver.org to learn more.

Share always welcomes financial contributions. Make checks payable to “Share” and mail to P.O. Box 1209 Vancouver, WA 98666-1209.
